I had a relatively good experience with Box.net. The sign up was quick and easy except that they wanted phone contact details. Did anyone else find that strange??? For some reason I find it okay to give out my email address at random but pause to give out my phone details over the internet (probably just another paranoia of mine). Uploading was also quick and easy for me….though I think that was just pure luck listening to some of the stories.
The only other major detail for Box.net was the amount of storage up on offer. I am anticipating that 1 Gigabyte of storage might run out a bit too soon. I probably won’t use the site again due to the storage issue. I currently recommend Google Docs to patrons but it is good to have options

Hi de hi and welcome back to round two :) I have to admit that I didn't notice the phone details and that's probably because I don't fill out any fields that irritate me. Needless to say, there are a LOT of fields that I don't fill in! And nope, I don't think you're paranoid. I think you're sensible which is a heck of a lot safer to be. YAY you for finding it easy to upload! Fair point that 1gb, if you're a huge user, can be a downer and run out quick. In a personal sense I wouldn't use this site at all because I'm always carrying a flash drive, but in a work sense if staff invite me to collaborate there I'll happily join in. And YAY you for recommending Google Docs! Personally, I can't stand it - clunky, buggy and annoying BUT it's free. Free good is my lifelong philosophy :)
